Shapiro, Harry

(1902-90)
   American anthro-pologist. Born in Boston, he became curator in the department of anthropology of the American Museum of Natural History; from 1942 served as curator and chairman of the department. He was also professor of anthropology at Columbia University from 1943. His book The Jewish People deals with the racial origins of the Jews.
